Partnership standards
Partners keep the magazine going. They never write it.
A draft awaiting the publisher's approval. It describes how the site works today; the approved text replaces it.
What a partner can support
- An edition of a newsletter: one labeled sponsor slot in each send.
- The news desk, or one section of the magazine.
- A portfolio of photographs or a film, as its presenter.
- An issue, as its issue partner.
- A Landmark Partner listing on the Landmarks map.
- A partner story, written by our Partner Studio and approved by the partner.
How it is labeled
Every paid placement says so in words a reader cannot miss. A partner story opens with a full-width band that names the partner and links to what it means; the band cannot be switched off. Advertisements sit in reserved, labeled spaces of a fixed size.
Where partners never appear
There are no advertisements inside features or portfolios. Partner stories never appear in the news desk, the news sitemap, the stories in our newsletters, related stories or most-read lists. Editor’s Picks on the Landmarks map are never paid for.
What a partner never gets
A say over our journalism, an advance look at a story, or a change to a review. When a partner is the subject of a story, the story says so.
Advertising and your choices
Advertising tags load only after a reader chooses “Allow all”. We run no pop-ups, no interstitials, no autoplay, and nothing that sticks over the page’s controls.
Rates and the founding offer are on our rate card.
